Part-time/Per-diem Pharmacy Research Assistant/Intern

Job Description Boston Center for Memory is looking for a part-time/per-diem Pharmacy Research Assistant/Intern that could assist the Pharmacy Research Manager, Clinical Research Manager and other research staff in performing pharmacy procedures related to Investigational Products.


Candidate will gain hands-on experience and insights about how clinical trials are being conducted at the clinical site, and exposure to various investigational therapies pertaining to Alzheimer’s Disease and other related dementias.



  • Assist Pharmacy Research Manager in the preparation, handling and accountability of Investigational Products (IPs) for infusion-based clinical trials, in accordance with Good Clinical Practices (ICH GCP guideline), study protocol requirements, and applicable local law/regulations.

    • Preparation procedures include reconstitution and/or dilution of sponsor provided IPs to final products ready for IV infusion, using aseptic techniques.

    • Accountability includes all record-keeping and detailed documentation of receipt, dispensation and disposal/return of IPs, as well as maintenance of pharmacy regulatory files.

    • Coordinate with Clinical Research Manager, laboratory coordinator and other research staff to ensure on-time delivery/handling of prepared IPs

  • Perform weekly inventory of pharmacy stock and coordinate with the Clinical Research Manager to ensure sufficient stock for IP preparation.

  • Prepare for regular pharmacy monitoring visits conducted by sponsors or CROs, and assist the Pharmacy Research Manager during the visits

  • Other responsibilities will be assigned dependent upon the needs of the clinic.

  • Familiar with clinical laboratory environment and/or non-sterile compounding with aseptic techniques


Minimum education requirements:

  • Student in 5 th year or equivalent pharmacy program (PharmD)

  • Student in final year of nursing program (BSN, RN, LPN)

  • Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT), Certified Clinical Research Coordinator (CCRC), Bachelor’s degree of other health science majors are also considered

  • Must be detail-oriented and able to multi-task while ensuring error-free and high-quality delivery of work.

  • Must have transportation and valid driver license as there is minimal access to public transportation to/from our clinic

  • Minimum one-year commitment, be able to work Monday-Friday and morning shift (around 8am-1pm)


Preferred skills-

Clinical research experience: familiar with study protocols, GCPs, handling and accountability of IPs

Postdoctoral Fellowship in Clinical Neuropsychology

The Boston Center for Memory (BCM) is accepting applications for a two-year postdoctoral fellowship in Clinical Neuropsychology with a focus on Alzheimer's disease and related neurodegenerative conditions. The fellow will function as an integral part of a multidisciplinary team in a diagnostic and treatment center and clinical research center.

Postdoctoral fellows will provide screenings, conduct clinical neuropsychological evaluations, including history taking, review of medical records, administration and scoring of neuropsychological assessments, interpretation of evaluation of results under supervision, discussing the finding and recommendations with patients and their family members, working in close collaboration with the staff neurologists, and writing summary reports of the complete evaluations.


The fellowship will consist of clinical activity, didactics, supervision and mentorship, and research opportunities. Activities will allow for fulfillment of licensure requirements. 

Eligibility: Completion of an APA accredited doctoral program (PhD/PsyD) as well as an APA accredited internship.

Medical Assistant/Phlebotomist

Boston Center for Memory is an independent multi-specialty clinic and research center that provides diagnosis, treatment, and management of memory disorders, primarily due to Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias.


BCM is expanding faster than anticipated so as we continue to grow, we are seeking a Medical Assistant/Phlebotomist to work alongside with the research laboratory coordinator. You will be responsible for helping coordinate and implement laboratory services and systems for a clinical trial center.


The successful candidate must be a graduate of an Medical Assistant Program with a minimum of one year clinical medical office experience required. Proficiency with vitals, hands-on clinical support and phlebotomy skills a must. IV skills desirable but will train. Phlebotomy Responsibilities:

  • Greets patients and explains procedure in a professional and courteous manner. Reassures each patient to make them comfortable with the procedure.

  • Performs proficient venipuncture including proper technique and use of proper collection devices/tubes according to established procedures and protocols.

  • Start IV lines and oversee infusions under the supervision of a pharmacist or physician.

  • Assist in overseeing in Infusion studies.

  • Processes blood specimens according to written protocols.

  • Prepare and ship blood specimens according to protocols.

  • Maintain research sample storage temperature logs.

  • Perform Laboratory housekeeping and maintain laboratory inventory.


Medical Assistant Responsibilities:

  • Obtains and reviews daily schedules of patients and ensures all appropriate preparations are in place to facilitate efficient patient flow for the day.

  • Perform EKGs and transmit all daily EKG recordings.

  • Performs vital signs, height and weight on patients.

  • Acts as liaison between patient and other members of the team regarding patient care activities.

  • Ensure that complete and accurate information is collected.

  • Provides assistance on clinical research studies as per study guidelines and protocols.


Skills/Abilities/Competencies Required:

  • Work as a member of a multi-disciplinary team of experts in neuropsychology and neurology.

  • Maintain established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance programs, safety, environment and infection control standards.

  • Ability to provide quality, error free work in a fast-paced environment.

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

  • Performs other duties as needed or directed to meet the needs of the department

Clinical Research Coordinator

Under the direction of the Principal Investigator, the Clinical Research Coordinator will be

responsible for managing clinical trials at the Boston Center for Memory (BCM) and will work as a member of a multi-disciplinary team of experts in neuropsychology and neurology.


Responsibilities will include:


  • Perform day to day research activities based on BCM’s Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) and Good Clinical Practice (GCP).

  • Maintain, and update data collection tools, spreadsheets, and databases for use in gathering and compilation of information specific to each research process.

  • Oversight and management of the clinical trials start-up process from receipt of protocols through IRB submissions, and site activation activities.

  • Identify and recruit study participants.

  • Manages visits with the sponsor/study monitor and assists in initiation of clinical trials.

  • Coordinate scheduling of tests and treatments required for protocol. Prepare, submit, and maintain regulatory documents to the IRB and sponsor

  • Responsible for data reporting and management, collection of source documents, use and development of case report forms, adverse events reporting, filing and archiving of study records, and resolution of data queries.

  • Assist with the study completion, resolution of data queries, data lock, study closeout.

Position Requirements/Education Requirements
