Kiara M. Ortega, BSN
Kiara is the Laboratory Coordinator at Boston Center
for Memory (BCM).
Kiara’s primary role at BCM involves coordinating and managing the laboratory procedures in clinical research trials investigating diagnostics and pharmacotherapy for Mild Cognitive Impairment, Alzheimer's disease, and related dementias. Laboratory procedures and patient care include medical assessments, phlebotomy, IV placement, infusion therapy, and sample processing.
Kiara graduated with a bachelor’s degree in science of nursing from Interamerican University of Puerto Rico. During college, she worked as a nursing assistant in various hospitals and nursing homes. Following graduation, Kiara moved to Boston to expand her clinical experience.
Since moving to Boston, Kiara worked for Boston Medical Center (BMC) as a lead phlebotomist including drug screen collection, nurse manager assistance, patient care coordination, and also served as a Spanish speaking translator.
