Adult & Geriatric Nurse Practitioner
Carol Rossi is a board certified adult and geriatric nurse practitioner in adult gerontology primary care by the ANCC. Carol provides neurology services both in clinical practice for follow up care and for clinical research at BCM under the direction of Dr. Andrew Budson.
Carol has a diversified nursing background, which includes inpatient, acute care, homecare, case management, research, compliance & quality improvement. As a hospital based nurse she enjoyed the added role of clinical preceptor and adjunct professor mentoring new nurses. As a hospital nurse she was certified in telemetry, basic and advanced cardiac life support and experienced the adventure of completing short-term national contracts as a travelling RN. Transitioning into home care as a visiting nurse, Carol managed a large caseload of patients when she was honored with the first VNA Excellence in Caring award.
After a few years, she decided to move into the homecare management arena of utilization review passing the very first American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) national exam for certification in Community & Homecare Nursing. During this time, she was instrumental in the VNA’s recognition of gold status during the initiation of the Medicare PPO Oasis Project. After completing a certification in Quality Management, she worked as a Compliance Manager performing company oversight in Managed Care.
Prior to completing her MSN graduate degree at Northeastern University, she was a clinical research manager at the Boston University Alzheimer’s Disease Clinical and Research Program. In graduate school, Carol was inducted into Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing for academic excellence.
